Cats are everywhere on Cyprus — in villages, ancient ruins, harbours and quiet countryside paths. The high number of Cyprus cats has historical roots: for centuries, cats were brought to the island to control rodents, especially in ports, monasteries and rural areas. Over time, they became an inseparable part of everyday life.
Most Cyprus cats live freely and independently. Despite living outdoors, the majority are gentle, non-aggressive and surprisingly trusting toward humans. Many rely on the kindness of locals, visitors and animal welfare organisations for food, medical care and protection.

When we — Susanna and Jürgen from SancyTours — visited the Oktoberfest in Cyprus in Limassol at City of Dreams Mediterranean, we expected a lively evening. What we didn’t expect was how perfectly Bavarian tradition and Mediterranean atmosphere could blend into something so unique.
The moment we walked into the festival area, we were greeted by warm lights, the smell of traditional German food, and the unmistakable sound of Die Kirchdorfer® warming up on stage. It felt almost surreal: standing in the mild Cyprus evening, surrounded by palm trees and the deep blue Limassol sky, listening to the soundtrack of Munich’s Oktoberfest. The Lefkara Christmas Market is one of those places where Christmas in Cyprus truly comes alive. During the festive season, the entire village transforms into a glowing scene of lights, decorations and traditional charm. Stone houses, narrow alleys and small courtyards are lovingly decorated, giving Lefkara a warm and almost storybook-like atmosphere.
Walking through the Lefkara Christmas Market, you immediately feel that this is not a typical commercial event. The village itself becomes the highlight. Christmas lights reflect on limestone walls, handmade decorations hang above cobbled streets, and the scent of traditional sweets fills the air. Lefkara shows itself at its most beautiful — calm, festive and deeply authentic.

Within minutes, seeing Ed Sheeran Live, all doubts disappeared.

Rammstein Live Athens was more than just a concert for me — it was the highlight of a journey shared with my best friend, who had travelled all the way from Germany to spend a few intense days together in Greece.
Before the big night, we explored Athens the way it should be experienced: walking through historic streets, standing in awe on the Acropolis, enjoying incredible Greek food, long conversations and that special feeling of being in a city where history is everywhere. The anticipation for Rammstein Live Athens was growing with every hour.

We recently expanded our little “fleet” — not only do we have our motor yacht and rubber boat, but now also a Stand-Up Paddle Board and a paddle boat. And honestly? It has been one of the best decisions we’ve made.

Today we stumbled upon a Lost Place Cyprus that immediately captivated us — hidden in nature, far from any path, and carrying an atmosphere that felt old, quiet and entirely forgotten.
What we found was a cave-like interior with soot on the ceiling and a flat stone surface that made us wonder whether this place might once have been used for prayer or gatherings. In Cyprus, there are several Lost Place Cyprus of this kind that were once used as small chapels or hermit shelters — but whether this site served a similar purpose remains unknown.

If you had asked us whether Parrots in Cyprus exist in the wild, we would have confidently said:
“Absolutely not. Not here.”
But today changed everything. So we found Parrots in Cyprus!
During a quiet walk, without any special expectations, we suddenly heard unusual bird calls above us. Not doves, not sparrows, not magpies — something sharper, more exotic. We looked up, and there they were: parrots, flying freely through the treetops as if this was the most natural thing in the world.
