Private Famagusta Tour – Old Town with Salamis or Varosha
Your Private Famagusta Tour begins with a scenic drive north across the Green Line into Northern Cyprus. Please remember to bring your passport or ID, which is required to cross the border.
The first stop is the walled city of Famagusta, one of Cyprus’ most atmospheric and historically rich locations. Within its enormous Venetian walls, you’ll wander through medieval streets filled with stories of crusaders, merchants, and empires. Highlights include the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque, once the grand Gothic Cathedral of St. Nicholas, and the Venetian Palace ruins. Around every corner, you’ll find traces of the city’s golden age – from ancient churches and ornate façades to lively cafés and artisan shops.
After exploring Famagusta, you decide how your private day continues:
- Option 1 – Salamis: Visit the ancient Roman city of Salamis, one of the island’s most impressive archaeological sites. Walk among marble columns, bathhouses, an amphitheatre, and mosaic floors that reveal Cyprus’ classical past.
- Option 2 – Varosha: Explore the ghost town of Varosha, sealed off since 1974. Once a glamorous beach resort, it now stands frozen in time — an eerie yet powerful reminder of Cyprus’ modern history.
- If you’d like to experience all three locations – Famagusta, Salamis, and Varosha – this is also possible for an additional €89 per vehicle.
Your private guide will tailor the tour to your interests — whether you want to focus on ancient history, modern stories, or the cultural contrasts of the island’s divided capital.
Discover the charm, mystery, and emotion of North Cyprus on this Private Famagusta Tour, where every stone tells a story and every stop reveals another layer of the island’s fascinating past.
